  You realise this place was stolen by US and UK govts from native people approx 40 years ago ? There is a court case and movement to resettle - research it !!

  Was stationed there in “78”-“79” with MCB4. Was isolated only military and and govt civilian. Worked on lengthiness runway and pier. Also POL tanks and barracks. Beautiful island ,no pollution then.

  Had the privilege of playing there while on a DOD tour with a local band out of St. Louis, MO, beautiful place.

  Nice lovely place. Diego Garcia is an atoll just south of the equator in the central Indian Ocean, and the largest of 60 small islands comprising the Chagos Archipelago. Actually it is inhibited mostly just with the military personnel. What is interested about it is that This island contains facilities important for GPS regular work
